Optima Kierland Apartments: A Studio of Its Own, Yoga and Pilates
Not every workout needs music playing through a speaker system or a row of machines humming nearby. At Optima Kierland Apartments, the offering shifts by tower, giving residents a different version of the same idea depending on where they live.
The Space Itself, Tower by Tower
The 7140 tower has a rooftop yoga studio on its rooftop sky deck, positioned alongside the running track and pool with views toward the McDowell Mountains. The 7160 tower includes a yoga room off its residents’ club, near the massage room and Zen garden, tucked into a quieter wing away from the main fitness floor. The 7190 tower goes a step further with a yoga studio that has its own separate Pilates room, giving residents two distinct spaces, one for mat work and one for reformer sessions, without having to leave the fitness floor or share space with the rest of the gym.

Why the Separation Matters
Fitness programming across the towers includes yoga, mindfulness, Pilates, and personal training, with on-site massage available for residents who want to close out a session with recovery rather than just a shower. Keeping yoga and Pilates in their own rooms, rather than folding them into the general workout floor, means the equipment stays set up and a resident can walk in mid-morning without waiting for a class to clear out. It’s a small design decision that adds up over time, whether someone is easing into a Monday with a slow flow or working through a Pilates routine before dinner.
