Hosting at Home

June 24, 2026

Having people over is one of the quiet pleasures of a good home. A dinner with friends, an evening that extends because the space invites it, a gathering that comes together easily because the infrastructure supports it, these are the moments that make where you live feel like somewhere worth being. At Optima Kierland, the entertaining spaces across the community’s towers are designed to make hosting a natural extension of daily life.

In-Unit Kitchens Built for Cooking and Gathering

The residences across all Kierland towers feature gourmet kitchens with stainless steel appliances and granite or quartz countertops, designed for both everyday use and the occasional larger dinner. Open-concept layouts create a seamless connection between the kitchen and the living area, and private terraces framed by vertical landscaping extend the usable space outdoors. Many three-bedroom and corner two-bedroom residences in 7190 Optima Kierland include fire pits and grills on their terraces, which shifts outdoor entertaining from a communal to a private experience.

When Guests Stay Overnight

For family visits or guests who’ve traveled from out of town, Optima Kierland offers reservable guest suites in each tower, furnished in-building accommodations that give visitors a comfortable, private space of their own. It’s an easy way to host overnight company without giving up a home office or squeezing an extra bed into a room that wasn’t built for it. The resident gets to keep their apartment exactly as they like it, and the guest gets a great place to stay just steps away.

Party Rooms and Demonstration Kitchen

The residents’ clubs in each tower include indoor-to-outdoor party rooms with retractable glass walls, game rooms, and outdoor entertaining spaces featuring barbecues, fire pits, and a bocce ball court. The retractable glass walls make it easy to move a gathering from indoors to out without losing momentum, and at 7140 and 7190, a theater adds another option for movie nights and more low-key evenings in.

Rooftop Entertaining and the Sky Deck

Each tower at Optima Kierland includes a rooftop sky deck with its own entertaining character. Outdoor bars with counter seating, fire pits, lounge seating, and outdoor kitchens create the foundation for rooftop gatherings that take in the McDowell Mountain views and the North Scottsdale skyline. The 7190 sky deck includes a 50-meter Olympic-length lap pool and a quarter-mile running track around the perimeter, a scale that makes the rooftop feel like a destination rather than an amenity floor.

A Quarter Mile Away From Kierland Commons

Part of what makes hosting at Optima Kierland easy is the neighborhood. Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter sit within easy walking distance, offering the kind of dining, retail, and services that make last-minute provisions or a spontaneous dinner reservation possible without a car. The community’s location means that hosting doesn’t begin and end at the front door.
